U skladu sa članom 38. Zakona o obveznom osiguranju u saobraćaju, lice kome je pričinjena šteta upotrebom motornog vozila inostrane registracije na teritoriji Crne Gore, za koje postoji valjana međunarodna isprava o osiguranju od autoodgovornosti koja važi na teritoriji Crne Gore, podnosi odštetni zahtjev Udruženju, društvu za osiguranje ili licu koje je Udruženje ovlastilo za obavljanje poslova koji proizilaze iz međunarodnog sporazuma o osiguranje vlasnika motornih vozila od odgovornosti za štete nastale upotrebom motornih vozila u zemlji ili inostranstvu.

Obradu i isplatu ovakvih šteta Udruženje – Nacionalni biro osiguravača Crne Gore može povjeriti svojim članovima koji su dužni odštetni zahtjev obraditi i likvidirati u skladu sa međunarodnim sporazumima o obveznom osiguranju od autoodgovornosti.

NBOCG u praksi povjerava obradu ovakvih šteta imenovanom korespondentu stranog društva, odnosno, ako strano društvo nema imenovanog korespondenta za Crnu Goru, obradu povjerava jednom od svojih članova, pritom vodeći računa o koliziji interesa.

Međunarodni sporazum sklopljen između nacionalnih Udruženja zemalja članica Sistema zelene karte koji reguliše odnose između Udruženja potpisnika predviđa mogućnost imenovanja korespodenta stranog osiguravača od autoodgovornosti za rješavanje šteta u državi u kojoj se dogodila saobraćajna nezgoda, a koju prouzrokuju njegovi osiguranici.
